Funding for personal projects (UK and Ireland)

If you want to make a short film, develop a TV show pitch, or other personal animation project, there are public funds in the UK and Ireland that can help. These are competitive but well worth applying for.

• BFI Network — short film funding for UK filmmakers

• BBC Ignite — animation development schemes (not currently running yet)

• Screen Scotland — if you're Scottish-based

• Ffilm Cymru Wales — Welsh equivalent

• Northern Ireland Screen

• Film Hub North — northern England film support

• Arts Council England — Develop Your Creative Practice (DYCP) — grants of up to £12,000 for individual creative development

• Screen Ireland - development funding for animation projects.
