Where to find animation work

Where to find animation work
Most TV animation jobs will be advertised; however, for freelance work, you'll likely be finding jobs through word of mouth, repeat clients, and direct cold outreach. It's worth checking these job sites regularly while you're starting out.
Job boards
Animated Jobs - broad, US-heavy but worth a weekly scan
Cartoon Recruit - US/UK animation jobs
ScreenSkills - UK screen industry jobs and training
Animation/vfx/game industry job postings - A spreadsheet maintained with jobs across the world
Direct studio outreach
For freelance work, cold emailing studios with your reel and portfolio is totally normal. A short, personal email including what you specialise in, your showreel and a link to your LinkedIn can be enough. It's also worth adding producers and people at the studio on LinkedIn to stay engaged!
Check out the School of Motions 500 studios to find a list of studios and reach out to the ones you'd like to work with.
CRM - Client Relationship Managment
It's super helpful to set up a CRM early, this can help keep track of which clients you've contacted and which clients you should follow up with, I made a free CRM software that you can check out here, which also includes Gantt charts for managing your projects Freelancer Ledger.
